The steepest gap this week comes from Action Comics (1938) No. 1000 (Gibbons Cover) at -87.6% vs. guide.
Price guides are useful context, but they’re not settlement. Realized sales — especially eBay’s sold data — are where buyers and sellers actually agree. Guides tend to lag, smooth out spikes, and sometimes overestimate value when a title cools. This week’s sample reinforces that point: once we set facsimiles aside, there are no true premiums in the data.
